When authors uses wordplay, they can either be making fun of someone like the government or the president. They usu wordplays to create humor and attract people of all ages to read their book. I think and author like Lewis Carroll used worplay because he wanted to tease the higher power of the government and make people laugh. Wordplays maybe used to explaining something, make the book more interesting, and cause laughs for the readers.
I think when authors use wordplay they use it to create humor for example, three poems that uses wordplay to create a some humor is,I'm Nobody! Who are you?, Rain, and Humpty Dumpty. These poems has repetition which is part of wordplay to make it interesting to the readers. I feel like when authors put wordplay into a book it causes you to think why the author did this, what he is trying to show, and how it is formed. Some wordplays that causes to to think is, personification and Alliteration becauses you would have to look closely to where the wordplay is.Some examples of personification in a poem is from,**William Blake, Emily Dickinson, and Mother Goose.**When authors use wordplay they can be confusing because it maybe hard to understand because they are comparing something or it maybe hard jus to locate them in the book because you cant see them. Wordplays are sometimes hard to understand because you may not know what the author is trying to say and what they are comparing it to. I think authors are smart to use wordplay because it improves thier storyline and help make the book more humorous.
